War on Poverty After 56 years of President Johnson's 1964 State of the Union Address against the ”War on Poverty,” it is without an end, but everlasting. The disenfranchisement of minorities and communities still exist today! The conditions of unaffordable housing, inadequate health care, ill education system, unemployment all due to the color of one skin color, ethnicity, gender, religion, etc., equates to Poverty.
